ONE DAY PROJECTS FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL ART CLASS

50 Anythings

Challenge:
Students work in small groups to create a sculptural artwork using only adhesives,
and 50 sheets of paper (or any common, small product)

Materials: adhesives,50 of one of the following: sheets of paper, plastic spoons, rulers, popsicle sticks, tardy slips, anything small, cheap, and that can be easily adhered

Process:
1. Teacher demonstrates different ways the product may be altered or manipulated
(torn, stacked, aligned, misaligned, curled, etc...)
2. Each group receives 50 ct. of the product (see above)
3. Students construct their sculptural artwork

Lesson Expansion:
1. Create the tallest sculpture possible
2. Create the most unusual sculpture possible
3. Students must pick a prompt at random to inspire their sculpture
4. Students create an article of clothing, or other specific product design
5. Students used 50 discarded school papers (graded work, outdated notes, etc...)
